Before A story about 2 slaves comes the story of Erin

Erin a 16 year old girl just entering high school being embarrassed by her mom dropping her off at school again because she had missed the bus. Why had Erin missed the bus, because of that nightmare she kept having, it had occupied her mind so much at breakfast she didn’t touch it.
