good start and well written, although there wasnt a lot of action there`s a promise of things to come. I`m looking forward to the next part. (9/10)

A good start, but in spite of its 12k, not really enough to post. You did set the scene well, and there's a taster of what's to come.
Aside from length, my only two complaints are exclusively about format. My old eyes would appreciate a larger font, though this one is readable with effort. Why does the number of empty lines separating your paragraphs vary? It seems to range between one and three, which I find distracting. One is good. (8/10)
