I kind of enjoyed this story. I thought some of the changes to the whole Vampire mythos a little strange right at the beginning, but it worked out. I felt the author did a pretty good job in describing scenes and moving the plot along. There was very little dialog, but the story really didn't need all that much. It's obvious that the author has a serious hair fetish, which is unusual enough that I doubt it holds that much sway with regular readers. I would recommend dialing the hair fetish scenes back a little, or at least not focusing so much on them. *** One of my bigger complaints that did absolutely nothing to affect the rating I've given this story, was the lack of sexual tension. I felt as if the vampire was just retelling the sexual tortures of his victims with little or no emotion. To be honest, I was a little disappointed. With all of the myriad ways to restrain a girl (willing and unwilling) I was hoping for some more bondage scenes. ***There really wasn't a plot or story arc, it was just the retelling of a life story by a vampire. He didn't have any real adversity in his life, no real love, and the author chose not to delve into the developing sadism the vampire was beginning to experience. *** All in all it was a decent tale and I applaud the author's historical and verbal accuracy to Romania and the time periods.
