I read this story some years ago and decided it was about time I made a comment.
Atonement is probably my favorite story on this site.
The plot was original at the time of writing and is still better than others I have read of the same blackmail/slave genre.
The situations are plausible and very detailed, not to mention very erotic, as are the characters.
Cheryl is cruel and as she becomes more dominant, causing Barbara to be ever more submissive, the torments for her slave can only get worse.
As a married male I can understand John`s position exactly, the thought of one`s wife being dominated by another woman is, to me, highly exciting (it`s not something I would condone in reality though).
Some of the scenes of Barbara`s suffering are really hot and the way the story is written could lead to endless situations.
I think it`s a shame that the author stopped writing as there is so much more that could be done with this story.
My only gripe is the final chapter. Written by another author, though with all good intentions does not follow the plot in any way.
But then everyone has their own ideas of what is erotic.
Anyway thanks for a truly great story.

A few spelling mistakes and words missing, but these do not detract from a good story with plenty of pace and action, i look foreward to reading the other chapters. (9/10)

My only grunt is towards the seeming obsession with some writers of having their blackmailers wanting to be called "master" or in this case "mistress", from the word "go".
It's tedious and a show of lack of inventiveness.
But the story is excellent of course.

I can't add much to the kudos already won by this excellent story -- except to point out that Part 6 is by a different writer. It is puerile and badly edited and certainly far below the high quality of the original. (9/10)

- This story was written 8 or 9 years ago and was quite popular when first posted then. It's rather difficult to find anything "original" in blackmail stories these days.

This is a great story. The woman spirals ever deeper into submission and humiliation. There are new twists and surprises for the reader as one sceen leads to another. (10/10)

- "Owned Teacher" was excellent much of the way, and I'm very fond of that story. But the author, Thumb, got sick (and possibly bored and/or impatient and/or burnt out) towards the end. The big orgy scene was,for example, ludicrous and completely unbelievable. "The Atonement," on the other hand, maintains a wonderful plausibility through to the end.
