A black heart overflowing with love. Usually I'm not reading pirate novels or stories but - and this is a very big but - if my favorite author is writing one, I can't stop reading it again and again. Captv8td just pulls my strings. This professed, You know there won't be the typical "don't like this or appreciated that" in this review. No - it is nothing more than the longing outcry of someone who would love to meet the petite Blackheart but couldn't find a way to join her crew. (10/10)

I'm usually a big fan of Captv8td's writing but this one is, for me, well below par. Captv8td's greatest strength is creating an alternative world where the outrageous things described are somehow quite normal, where men and women are taken into sexual slavery as part and parcel of everyday life. In this one, for me, (s)he fails to create this suspension of disbelief. The setting is 18th Century Caribbean, the language and sensibilities 21st Century USA. As such I wasn't sucked in and spent too long saying "that doesn't sound right" to enjoy the story. Oh, well, time to go back to reread Panther Girls (again). (6/10)
