I like the idea, even have written an unposted short about it (just under 5000 words). What I have done is put more emphasis on the surroundings. In my short it is a public display, amongst peers, unbeknownst to the woman who is put on display.
The short was inspired by a scene in the 1997 Jeremy Irons/Dominique Swain remake of "Lolita", where swain crawls rather lovely around the floor of an upscale pub.
Anyway, I enjoyed your take.
