The start and ending of a story are always the hardest parts, so, it's no surprise that the first few paragraphs seem a tad awkward.
Funny enough, as the mood is set very accurately in later paragraphs, the awkwardness of the first few dissolves when going over them again.
That the awkwardness dissolves pretty fast, is mainly thanks to the use of excellent dialogues between the sisters. Without going into too many details, an understandable background is painted.
As a conclusion, this looks to become a very interesting tale.
The stage is set, the lights go down... now we wait for the band to start playing.
Excellent start.
