A Rather Reasonable Sacrifice Author: Mad Lews
(Added on Aug 10, 2007) (This month 49227 readers) (Total 57424 readers)
Presenting a modern retelling of an old Scottish folktale. This would be one of the stories of Tam Lin the Fey trickster. You may find it a relatively mild story for this site but one of rape, mind control that raises the question of what is “What is the true nature of evil?”.

Did you know that Rabbit 1 died last Saturday? Seems no one in authority thinks this is worth noting. Tiger has known about it since Sunday, and is too busy trying to find another sucker to do the thankless job Rabbit 1 did. This is a real class operation. NOT (9/10)

I myself just learned of Jim's untimely passing yesterday. I suspect the announcement was delayed while facts were confirmed. This is the internet after all. I will miss the fuzzy one, he was always very patient with me and allowed me to tweak stories after they were posted. The site is going to be a mess for a while and new stories on the story page will be at least weeks away. Your patience will be greatly appreciated and in the meantime stories can be posted in the forum at http://www.bdsmlibrary.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12025
Thank you for the review Jethro

Another delightful tale from the mind of the twisted Mad Lews. Well told, fun, and satisfying short-short. Just long enough to tell the tale, and rich enough to whet one's interest in more.
Thanks for sharing it with us all. (10/10)

You're welcome, Now I need to find a new twist to explore, perhaps see if the Irish Folk have something to compare?

This is a gem of a ghost story, and deserving of a full 10/10 after it's had an extra proofread or two, and an explanation of the missing bits.
One missing bit:
“If the local archaeologist be believed, and why would ye not?” he asked his tone defiant.
This comes out of nowhere -- there should be a line of dialogue or at least body language from the narrator before it.
Another:
"there be no death for 60 years"
This seems key to the reason why the townfolk send out the tourist tickets, but it's very unclear. No death in the whole town? Nobody ages? Or something else? What's the bargain?
For the proofreading, someone needs to go through and fix all the quotation marks that are missing at the beginning of paragraphs, and check for missing commas, and take the dialect out of the narrator's part of the story, leaving it just to the old man.
I'd offer to do it for you but I'm proofreading something else tonight.... :)
Once the proofing's done, this will be a 10/10
...and there it is, and a significant improvement too! I understand the ending now, and the extra proofread really helped. Wow what a great proofreader you have! :) (10/10)

Certainly happy for your input Nick, sorry the quid pro quo was unclear, of course people die even in Chauterfield. Tam Lyns just not offed a single victim in the last few decades.
I'll send you a copy if you wish to putz &tweak grammar; the pay ain't much but...

I was absolutely enthralled by this story. And it is set in Scotland- the best place on Earth! The way it's written, with the old man telling the tale, adds to the imagery of it all, in my opinion. I am not at all sure why this story is considered "not nearly erotic enough". ~looks over at the Mad Author~ I found it tantalisingly erotic. Thank you for this. It's a grand read! (9/10)

Well if it gets you all tingely then I guess that's erotic enough for me and Lews ;)

Hahah, ghost rapists, cool! Good story. :) It may not be terribly erotic, but it IS about rape, and it is quite short, so it was still very enjoyable. (9/10)

Marvellous. An extremely imaginative and darkly humorous adaptation of an old tale. (9/10)

Why thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I was afraid it wasn't nearly erotic enough for the site but still it was an interesting idea so I had to try.
