Tale set in the 23rd century, after years of brutal war. While it mentions several real locations, it is not meant to be an allegory for any current or past events. |

Actually I think both this story and the author definitely have potential. The story is still not developed enough to be able to give it a true rating so I gave it a neutral six for now. On the plus side it has a lot of credibility to it and the view from Komal’s point of view was promising in that Largespoon shows that he may be able to really get into her mind. On the negative side I was a bit confused about the geographical areas and political relationships the author used for the setting for his story but that was kind of a minor point and he did set it up well enough so this reader could accept his premise. At the end of the day this girl would like to read more from this author. (6/10)

- I (as the writer) didn't really like this one. It was written on a bit of a whim as my first try, and I think I spent too much time setting it up with stupid details and a somewhat preposterous storyline (although I guess a lot of the storylines on this site are preposterous, heh).
So, I moved on. I tried making another one (also posted here, entitled "Spoils of War") which I thought was an improvement but still so-so. Others seemed to like it, though. I've started working on a third that I'm pleased with so far, but people don't seem to be able to look past the fact that it was my third attempt in a week.

My first attempt. I'm not really happy with it at all. Two more I've submitted and are pending. The next I'm not all that happy with either, but the one after that tries to incorporate the "better" aspects of the two, at least in my opinion. (5/10)
