While I agree with some of the comments made by others, I would like to see what happens next, before raising my rating (7/10)

I am conflicted about this story. It has a lot of potential, and the author does a very good job of setting up a situation and a character, then letting them do some fun things. The problems are in the gritty execution. Some of this is grammar and spelling, but the voice of the narrator is rather cold and there are some scenes where the heat is drained by too many words that really don't do anything. Next to 7 it says "Good. Was worth reading", and I think that aptly desribes this story. (7/10)

Good story. Only problems I have, are with the constant mixing (often in the same frase) of past and present tense. The writer has a nice vocabulary range, which is positive. Negative is the narrative style. It works well when told from a third-person perspective. Doesn't often work from the 'I' point-of-view... When the person that gives the account of the proceedings, is also part of those proceedings, it works better to write down the conversations, rather than simply give a narrative (and lengthy) account of those conversations... Though my review seems overly negative, I must point out that I did like the story and am looking forward to future installments and/or other stories from Michelle Makens' pen... JJ (7/10)
