It's hard to give a good review as yet, since we haven't gotten to the meat of the tale, but the prelude is good so far. A little more description would be nice.
I'll review my rating when more of the story is available.
Part two is eminently more instructive.The castration/execution seemed entirely in keeping with the subject at hand, and I loved the "same time, same channel" teaser at the end.
I would also like to compliment you on your writing. It's very comprehensible, and you've succeeded in giving the protagonist a recognizable "voice", not an easy trick to pull off. (8/10)

First of all, you cannot be a visiting Professor without having a PhD! And you don't write a "thesis" for your PhD, you write a "disseration." It is difficult for an anal-retentive like myself to ignore glaring errors like this. And you need some zip to your story--like a plot. (5/10)
