I read the other Jane story first, and this does suffer a bit by comparison -- but only a bit. It's shorter, less detailed, less gripping...but only in comparison with the other one. I think that, in any case, this one well deserves a 9. Even in the best stories on this site, I invariably find a few errors (and sometimes more than a few). I noticed none in the other Jane story and only one here (using "contact" as a verb...nowadays a venial sin). Whether there were none to notice, or whether the stories were so well done that my eagle eye was simply mesmerized, who can say? I can say, however, that I look forward to many more of Jane's adventures. (9/10)
