a polished piece of work, with a lot of interesting ideas, especially regarding body mods. i cant say i found the actual shapeshifter action that compelling, but your descriptions of the girl and the world that she lives in were terrific. (10/10)

Great, I loved the idea of the shapeshifter, it reminded me of Deep Space Nine, I look forward to the next bit (7/10)

- Thanks Chris, the similarity with DS9 was intentional, since the erotic possibilities of a shapeshifter like Odo are what inspired the story. I don't think there will ever be a sequel, though. I started one, but got stalled, and now I have half a dozen other stories that are also stalled.

Bill Lemieux is truly a writer of classics, so much so that I remember the story a decade later. While The Shapeshifter is slower, lighter, and perhaps a bit more tentative than some of his other work, it is still a joy to read. (9/10)
