The author is a born story-teller. In that sense the story warrants an 8 or a 9. But the grammar, sentence structure (the first paragraph is a good example) and spelling are in the 2-3 range. Also the date given in the synopsis (1890) is many years after the abolition of slavery in the US.
But I'd like to say again that this writer has a lot working in her favor; typically I put down a story with so many grammatical problems after reading a page or two. But this one held my interest enough for me to keep reading despite the problems. Keep at it, mystery girlie, and find someone who can help you with the areas in which you need improvement. Punctuation and a few misspelled words and ultra long sentance paragraphs. Needs editing/rewriting rather badly. (5/10)

Really good story. Only comment is that the pace of the story could have been much slowly constructed. I think by slowing the pace down, and by adding more details about the slaves humiliation and sexual torture then it would have improved the quaility and readability.
Overall, good read. If this story hasn't finished then I hope to hear more about this slave, as I'd like to know if she going to forced into having more children. How about her being given to the other slaves. (8/10)
