Very original story with great background "scenery". The writing style is a bit different, but refreshing. Very nicely painted dark atmosphere leaving you wanting for more with each update. (9/10)

Simply beautiful. Nikki, you have a gift! The only reason I haven't given the story a 10 is because it isn't finished yet. Oh, and the fact that you are torturing me with your small updates! (9/10)

Quite exquisite use of language in my opinion. An excellent first attempt which is refreshing in it's approach. Anticipating the next chapter with bated breath. What I'd give to be this young ladies "black prince"... (10/10)

This first chapter has some striking imagery -- "the dark shadow of my wanting" "an angry dragon's roar" and what I believe is her lover's exclamation "take my black heart ... swallow it that I may live inside you".
But it also has some labored moments -- "I've been here for hours (days, weeks, seconds)" to name one. Another minor difficulty is that the author does not use conventional quotation marks (assuming that they are quotations)to indicate what I think are exchanges between the heroine and her master; perhaps the reason for this device will be made clear in subsequent chapters.
So far, this is not the greatest story in the world; but it IS clear that this author is trying harder than most to use the power of language to assail our senses. I have a feeling that once this author has a little more experience managing that creativity, that this story could be a very fine one indeed. (8/10)
