Chapter 12 - Secure Containment - Unit Number 69
"Unlock the door and let us in to see Lisa Lovelace."
The male nurse looked uneasy.
"That's not a very good idea."
"Why not?"
"She's extremely violent."
The Chief Inspector looked through the spyhole in the door.
"All I see is one bare-legged, barefoot young woman wearing a straight
jacket."
He looked sourly at the burly male nurse.
"Stand aside and let us in, sonny."
He glanced confidently at the inspection team surrounding him.
"I think that all of us can handle one of her. If you're chicken, you can
cower out here."
The male nurse shook his head.
"You don't understand. She's EXTREMELY dangerous, EXTREMELY violent."
The inspector was contemptuous.
"She's a little girl and we're big, strong guys except for Jane here and
she's a tough woman who knows how to handle herself. I think that you've drugged
her up and are holding us up, waiting for the drug to take effect so she looks
mentally ill when we talk to her. It's not going to work, sonny."
The male nurse shook his head emphatically.
"I guarantee it! She's extremely dangerous and she's not drugged up."
With a snort of impatience, the Chief Inspector tore the keys from his hands
and opened the door...
